Mercedes-Benz E-Class Models (Mercedes-Benz E-Class W210)

0
The Mercedes-Benz middle class is a purely German style. And the German tradition is its exceptional diversity. Whether it is a taxi driver who counts every penny, or a broad-minded connoisseur of life - everyone interested in purchasing an E-class car has a multi-page price list offering a huge selection of configuration options, while the car's appearance practically does not change.

The E-Class thus covers a wide range of prices.

Today, as in the mid-1960s, the 1.5-ton Mercedes E 200 can be fitted with a 2-liter gasoline engine. As then, the Mercedes E 200 now serves as the entry point into the automotive "high society". And both the next model, released in 1968 and nicknamed "Dash-8", and the current E-class model are optionally equipped with an engine originally intended for the large S-class model. Today it is a V-shaped 8-cylinder engine with a volume of 4.2 liters Mercedes E 420, and in 1972 it was a single-row 6-cylinder engine with two overhead camshafts in the W-280 and W-280 E cars, which brought the power and comfort of the superclass to the middle class.

Thanks to this, the passenger car of the previous W-210 series (after the company introduced a new model classification, it began to bear the index "E") today represents a top model, the lineage of which can be traced only to its predecessor, the W-124 series.

With the exception of the 5.0-litre engine and the largest and smallest diesel engines, all engines are available in both saloon and estate (T-model) body styles. Only those who have chosen all-wheel drive, i.e. the 4Matic model, have a limited choice. All-wheel drive is available for both saloon and estate models at an additional cost, but only in combination with the new V6 engines and exclusively in combination with an automatic transmission.

The new E-Class does not cover lovers of coupes and convertibles, who were already provided with elegant representatives of these types of cars by the previous W-124 series. Those who prefer four-seater coupes should turn to the class below: for example, to the CLK models based on the C-Class, or to the models similar to the convertible.
