Suspension of the power unit
1 - engine mount brackets; 2 - suspension mounts; 3 - gearbox mounting bracket; 4 - rear cross member; 5 - shock absorber (depending on configuration)
Removing the power unit
at the top - engine mount to the front transverse beam
below - fastening the gearbox to the rear cross member and the bracket for fastening the exhaust pipe of the mufflers
1. Place the hood in a vertical position.
2. Disconnect the wire «masses» from the battery.
3. Remove the engine bottom shield.
4. Drain the engine oil.
5. Drain the coolant.
6. Remove the air filter with cold air intake.
7. Remove a radiator, having wrung out spring latches in its upper part.
8. On vehicles with body positioner, remove the body positioner pump.
9. On vehicles with power steering, suck the fluid out of the power steering reservoir with a syringe and disconnect the hoses from the power steering pump.
10. Disconnect the throttle actuator linkage.
11. Disconnect from the engine fluid inlet and outlet hoses to the radiator, heater and expansion tank.
12. Disconnect the vacuum hoses from the elements of the power system.
13. Disconnect the fuel supply and drain hoses from the pressure regulator and fuel dispenser or from the carburetor.
14. Remove the throttle actuator rod.
15. On vehicles with automatic gearbox, remove the control pressure control rod.
16. Disconnect wires from a starter and the generator. Disconnect the low-voltage wires and the high-voltage wire going to the ignition coil from the ignition distributor sensor.
17. Disconnect the wires from all sensors, and on engines with an injection system, both from the throttle valve limit switch and from the air flow meter pressure plate position sensor.
18. Remove the diagnostic block and disconnect the TDC sensor wire from the block at the back.
19. Disconnect the jumper on «mass» engine.
20. Disconnect the cardan shaft from the gearbox output shaft flange.
21. Depending on the configuration, remove the engine shock absorber and front buffer.
22. Turn away bolts of fastening of a reception pipe of mufflers to a final collector and remove an arm of fastening of a reception pipe to a transmission.
23. Disconnect the clutch hydraulic hose from the fitting on the body.
24. On vehicles with automatic transmission, disconnect the push-back solenoid valve rod; disconnect the shift rod from the lever; undock the starter interlock switch connector with a screwdriver inserted between the latch and the wires; unscrew the engine load sensor connector.
25. Turn away bolts of fastening of arms of an suspension bracket of the engine to a forward cross beam and an arm of fastening of KP to a back cross member.
26. Attach the hoist straps to the engine eyebolts.
27. Remove the rear cross member.
28. Tilt the power unit back at an angle of approximately 45°and remove it from the compartment, avoiding damage to the oil pump.
29. Remove the power unit.
