Hydraulic control unit (Mercedes-Benz Vito W639)

0
Mechanical gearboxes of type 716.6 can be equipped with either mechanical cable control or semi-automatic hydraulic control. In the second case, the gearbox is equipped with an independent hydraulic gear shift pump, an oil tank and a hydraulic unit consisting of a system of valves and hydraulic cylinders that develop gear shift force. In this case, the clutch is also controlled automatically by signals from the gearbox control unit, and pressure is supplied to the clutch slave cylinder not from the master cylinder, but from the hydraulic gearbox control system.

Hydraulic cylinder control valves; 13, Clutch control valve; 14. Hydraulic pump; 15. Clutch control tube; 16. Central gear shift rod

Such gearboxes are called Sprintshift transmission. These gearboxes replaced the previously produced automatic transmission type W4A02S.

It should be noted that automated gearboxes are not compatible with some start-stop systems.

The use of a hydraulic drive allows the gearbox to be used both in a fully automatic mode, when the driver does not participate in the gear shifting process, and in a semi-automatic mode, when the driver selects the gear using the gear selector. In this case, the process of disengaging the clutch and actually changing gears also occurs without the driver's participation.

Solenoid valve (Y92/1) for engaging 1st, 3rd, 5th gears; 10. Solenoid valve (Y92/2) for engaging 2nd, 4th, 6th gears and reverse gear
