Disassembly



1. Disassemble the gearbox.

2. Remove the thrust pad 1, reverse gear 2 and needle bearing 3 (see figure 6.38).

1. Retaining gasket,
2. Reverse gear,
3. Needle bearing,
4. Sliding sleeve,
5. Retaining ring,
6. Synchronizer housing,
7. Shaft.


3. Remove sliding sleeve 4.

4. Remove the locking ring 5.

5. Press out the synchronizer housing 6 of the reverse gear shaft 7.

Assembly



6. Assembly is carried out in the reverse order of removal. The groove (arrow) must point forward towards reverse gear 2.

Disassembly



7. Disassemble the gearbox.

8. Remove roller bearing 2 from shaft 8 (see figure 6.39). Unscrew bolt 1 (see figure 6.40). Remove roller bearing 2 from the shaft using puller 3 (see figure 6.41).

9. Remove the thrust washer 3.



10. Remove reverse gear 4 together with needle bearing 5.

11. Remove synchronizer sleeve 6. The groove (arrow) should point forward towards reverse gear 4.

12. Press synchronizer housing 7 off shaft 8.

Assembly



13. Assembly is carried out in the reverse order of removal. Install roller bearing 2 using sleeve 4 (see figure 6.42). Replace the bolt and screw it onto the shaft.
