If the gear selector is in position D, if the accelerator pedal is depressed partially, the upshift is engaged as soon as possible. The vehicle accelerates slowly, which saves fuel and ensures a smooth ride. In position D, all gears are involved, this mode is used most often.
In positions 2 and 3, shifting occurs, respectively, only up to the second or third gear. These modes should be selected when climbing when additional engine power is needed. When these modes are turned on on a slope, for example, if engine braking is necessary, the automation will turn on a downshift. In order not to overload the engine, keep an eye on the speed.
To P (parking) and R (reverse) move the selector only when the vehicle is stationary. Otherwise, sharp jerks are possible, wearing parts of the gearbox.
Position N·means neutral gear. The car can be rolled and towed (taking into account the following recommendations for towing and push-starting the engine).
In kickdown mode (accelerator pedal fully depressed) switching occurs when spinning up almost to the maximum speed. If necessary, a downshift is also engaged to obtain maximum vehicle acceleration. To shift up in kickdown mode, a solenoid valve is installed in the hydraulic drive system of the gearbox.
Note. When downshifting manually (braking switching) the tachometer must be monitored. If the engine revs too high when started too early, the pistons can hit the valves and bend them.
