Warning! The brake fluid used in the hydraulic clutch system is poisonous, so if it gets on your skin, immediately rinse the area with plenty of water. If the fluid gets into your eyes or inside your body, you should immediately consult a doctor. Some fluids are highly flammable and can catch fire even from contact with hot vehicle components. In addition, the fluid used in the hydraulic clutch system dissolves paint and plastic, so if the fluid gets on your vehicle's paintwork, rinse it with plenty of water. This fluid is also hygroscopic, i.e. it absorbs moisture from the air, and therefore it is not recommended to use the fluid if it has been stored in an open container for a long time.

Removal

Removal the slave cylinder from the clutch housing

Removal the slave cylinder from the clutch housing

1. Raise the front of the vehicle and support it on stands.

2. On the right side of the vehicle, place a suitable container under the clutch slave cylinder. Unscrew the hydraulic coupling of the pipeline on the clutch slave cylinder and disconnect the hose. After draining the fluid from the clutch hydraulic system, plug the end of the hose and the hole in the clutch slave cylinder.

3. Unscrew the two mounting bolts and remove the slave cylinder from the clutch housing (see fig. Removing the slave cylinder from the clutch housing). Remove the gasket.

Repair

Removal the spring from the clutch slave cylinder

Removal the spring from the clutch slave cylinder

1. Clean the outside of the clutch slave cylinder. Remove the retaining ring and lift the plunger out of the clutch slave cylinder.

2. Using light hammer blows, tap the clutch slave cylinder housing and remove the piston and spring from it (see fig. Removing the piston from the clutch slave cylinder, Removing the spring from the clutch slave cylinder).

3. Thoroughly clean the clutch slave cylinder parts, check their condition and replace them if necessary. The piston sealing ring must be replaced regardless of its condition.

4. Remove the old sealing ring from the piston. Dip the new sealing ring into the brake fluid and install it on the piston according to the arrows. Make sure that the sealing ring's working edge is in front of the spring at the end of the piston.

5. Lubricate the clutch slave cylinder bore with clean brake fluid and install the spring so that the larger diameter spring coils are located at the rear of the clutch slave cylinder.

6. Carefully install the piston into the clutch slave cylinder bore so that the piston protrusion enters the spring.

7. Install the push rod with the dust cap into the channel of the clutch slave cylinder and secure it with a retaining ring.

Installation

1. Install the clutch slave cylinder gasket so that the side with the notch faces the clutch housing.

2. Install the clutch slave cylinder with the push rod into the clutch housing so that the push rod fits into the spherical recess in the clutch release lever.

3. Secure the clutch slave cylinder with bolts.

4. Connect the hose to the clutch slave cylinder, fill the clutch hydraulic system with fluid and bleed air from it.
