Removing the release bearing
1. Remove the gearbox.
2. Rotate the release bearing and disengage it from the clutch release lever, then move the bearing forward along the guide bush and remove it from the clutch housing input shaft (see fig. Removing the release bearing).
Examination
1. Check the clutch release bearing for smooth, smooth running and wear.
2. If the operating time of the bearing is unknown, it is advisable to replace it.
3. Do not wash the bearing in solvents, as this will remove the grease from the bearing and cause rapid wear of the bearing.
Installation
1. Clean and lubricate with a light coat of molybdenum disulphide grease the surface of the clutch release lever mating with the release bearing and the guide sleeve.
2. Install the release bearing on the guide sleeve, then turn it to connect it to the clutch release lever.
3. Install the gearbox.
