The noise of the operating bearing in the disengaged state, that is, when the clutch pedal is depressed, indicates a faulty clutch release bearing.

Removal

1. Remove the gearbox.

1. Remove the gearbox.

2. Remove the clutch release bearing (1) from the tubular support on the front gearbox cover.

2. Remove the clutch release bearing (1) from the tubular support on the front gearbox cover.

3. Move the clutch release fork (2) in the direction of arrow (A), and then remove it in the direction of arrow (B) from the ball bolt (3) on the clutch housing and remove it.

Examination

Examination

1. Compress and rotate the clutch release bearing at the same time.

2. If the bearing rotates erratically, install a new bearing.

3. Check sliding surfaces for wear, corrosion and damage.

Installation

1. Wipe the bearing surfaces and contact surfaces with a clean cloth and lubricate them with MOS2 – plastic molybdenum disulfide grease.

Caution: Do not apply too much grease so that when assembled, grease cannot get onto the friction surface.

2. Press the clutch release bearing (2) against the direction (B) onto the ball-head bolt (3) until the fork spring retaining clip is locked. Then move the fork against the direction of arrow (A) until the pressure rod of the distributor cylinder fits into the groove of the clutch release fork.

3. Lubricate the inside of the clutch release bearing and both side recesses on the rear of the clutch.

4. Place the clutch release bearing onto the support tube and rotate it until it fits into the side grooves in the fork.

5. Install the gearbox.
