The clutch is self-adjusting and maintenance-free, so it is not possible to determine clutch disc wear from clutch pedal play. In order to check the thickness of the clutch disc in the mounted state, a special test template is required, which you can make yourself.
1. Make a reference template from 0.8 mm thick sheet metal in 1:1 scale.
2. Raise the vehicle.
3. Paste template (4) on the clutch distributor as far as it will go into the groove of the plastic insert.
4. If the cut marks of the template (arrow) buried behind the flange of the clutch distribution cylinder, the clutch disc still has sufficient thickness.
5. If the cut-out marks remain visible even though the template is fully inserted, then the clutch disc has already reached its wear limit and must be replaced.
6. Lower the car.
