Left axle shaft flange seal (cars with engines 111, 601 and 611.980)



Removal



1. Drain the transmission fluid from the automatic transmission.

2. Disconnect the axle shaft from flange 1 (see figure 6.67).

1. Output flange,
2. Retaining ring,
3. Radial oil seal.


3. Remove retaining ring 2 from flange 1.

4. Wipe the surface around the seal 3 and remove it.

Installation



5. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

Left axle shaft flange seal (cars with engine 104.900)



Removal



1. Unscrew bolts 1 securing the left axle shaft 2 to the drive flange 3 of the gearbox (see figure 6.68).

2. Remove flange 3.



3. Remove oil seal 4.

Installation



4. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. Install oil seal 4 and press it in using punch 5. Fill the gap between the lips of the oil seal with plastic grease.
