Removal

1. Remove the washer reservoir.

2. Mark the position of the front wheel on the hub with paint. This will allow you to install the balanced wheel in its original position during assembly.

3. Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. The car must be standing on its wheels when performing this operation.

4. Place the front of the vehicle on jack stands, unscrew the wheel bolts and remove the front wheels.

5. Vehicles with diesel engine: Remove the front part of the engine protection.

6. Cars with petrol engines: Remove the engine protection on the right side and in the middle.

7. Disconnect the multi-pin connector of the engine control unit and release the corresponding wiring harness from the fasteners.

8. Raise the engine with a hoist, lift or crane with an appropriate chain enough to remove the load from the engine mount.

9. Remove the rear part of the front fender liners.

10. Unscrew the mounting bolts of the support strut on the left side of the front axle beam.

11. Remove the side trim near the wishbone.

12. Disconnect the anti-roll bar by unscrewing the mounting bolts.

13. Disconnect the ball joint that secures the wishbone to the steering knuckle.
14. Disconnect the power steering pump from the front axle beam and secure it to the engine with wire.

15. Disconnect the steering rack from the front axle beam and secure it to the engine with wire.

16. Vehicles with diesel engine: Remove the charge air cooling radiator.

17. Unscrew the mounting bolts and disconnect both front engine mounts from the front axle beam.

18. Unscrew the mounting bolts and disconnect both rear suspension supports from the engine.

19. Disconnect the air conditioner pipe bracket from the right side of the beam.

20. Unscrew the bolts securing the front axle beam to the car body and remove it by pushing it downwards.

21. Unscrew the suspension wishbone from the beam.

Attention! The fastening nuts must be replaced after they have been unscrewed. To do this, squeeze the ends of the cotter pin on the outer nut and remove it, then remove the nut itself from the guide. To remove the inner nut, first disconnect the holder.

21. Unscrew the mounting bolts and disconnect both rear suspension supports from the axle cross member.

Installation

Attention! After each dismantling, be sure to replace the self-locking nuts with new ones.

The installation of the front axle cross beam is carried out in the reverse order.

22. Install the front wheel in accordance with the marks made during removal. Before doing this, lubricate the seat of the wheel disk on the hub with a thin layer of bearing grease. Do not lubricate the wheel mounting bolts. Screw in the wheel mounting bolts and lower the car. Tighten the nuts crosswise to a torque of 110 Nm.

23. Have the wheel alignment checked and adjusted in a workshop.
