- place the rear of the car on supports;
- unscrew the wheel from the desired side;
- loosen the equalizer fastening, as described above, relieving the tension of the cables;
- remove the tip of the cable to be replaced from the equalizer;
- remove the cable from the fasteners;
- remove the rear brake disc and disconnect the cable from the brake pad lever;
- when replacing the cable, we recommend checking the condition of the parking brake pads. If the pads are in good condition, apply lubricant to the desired points of the mechanism.
Installation must be carried out in reverse order. After installation, adjust the cables. Also check parking brake shoe adjustments and adjust again if necessary. If the pads have been replaced, they must be run in before use. At a speed of about 80 km/h, raise the parking brake lever by one tooth, but no longer than 10 seconds. Then lower the lever again. After stopping the car, check the operation of the parking brake 2-3 times and the free play of the wheels after lowering the lever.
