Adjusting the parking brake cables (Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 903)

To perform the work, the vehicle must be lifted.

The parking brake cables must be adjusted in the following order:

  • unscrew the four bolts shown by the arrows in the figure 296;

  • according to the drawing 297 Insert a hex key between the equalizer and the front cable. Turn the key and move the equalizer back in the direction of the arrow until the cables become slightly loose;
  • in this position tighten the screws shown in the figure 296 bolts and remove the hex key;
  • raise the parking brake lever in the cabin by 2 teeth;
  • loosen the locking bolt in the center of the adjusting eccentric;

  • install the socket head on the bolt shown in the picture 298, and tighten it to a torque of 15 N·m. Tighten the eccentric mechanism fixing bolt;
  • raise the parking brake lever and check that the rear wheels are locked.
