- place the rear of the car on supports and loosen the fastening of the cables in the equalizer;

- insert a screwdriver into the hole of the wheel bolt, having previously unscrewed it (pic. 295), and turn the setting gear until the wheel is locked. Then, from this position, rearrange the gear 5 teeth back so that the wheel rotates freely again;
- raise the parking brake lever several times. After adjusting, check that when the cable is released, the blocks converge as expected and unlock the drum. Otherwise, repeat the adjustment;
- screw the wheel bolt back;
- After installing the parking brake pads, they must be run in as described in next subsection.
