The front cable mount is shown in the figure 299. It is connected between the parking brake lever and the equalizer on the underside of the vehicle. When replacing, proceed as described below, however, it should be noted that the service center uses a special tool to remove the retaining ring:

  • loosen the four equalizer mounting bolts on the bottom of the vehicle (see figure 296) and move the entire lever forward;
  • remove the cable secured to the equalizer from the lever;
  • remove the retaining clip from the front cable mounting axle and remove the axle;
  • cut the fastening tape holding the cable;
  • remove the fixing clamps from the cross beams on the cable guides;
  • remove the clamp from the end of the cable where it runs in the floor of the car and pull the cable down;
  • remove the cable retaining ring (for this purpose, the previously mentioned special tool 901 589 00 63 00 is used) and pull the hose forward;

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. Finally, adjust the parking brake as described earlier.
