Attention! When installing the rear hub fastener, you must use a new external hinge bolt and ball joint nut of the control lever and lower lever, and a new nut for attaching the drive shaft to the hub.
Removal
1. Remove the hub cap and use a hammer and punch to knock the flange of the drive shaft mounting nut out of the drive shaft groove. Loosen the drive shaft mounting nut to the hub and the wheel mounting bolts.
2. Raise the rear of the vehicle and support it on stands.
3. Remove the corresponding rear wheel.
4. Remove the brake disc.
5. Unscrew the screws and remove the cover from the base of the lower rear suspension arm. Support the lower rear suspension arm with a jack through a wooden block.
6. Remove the nut and pivot bolt securing the rear lower control arm to the hub mounting.
7. While supporting the hub bracket, loosen the nuts and remove the pivot bolts securing the upper and lower control arms to the hub bracket.
8. Unscrew the nut that secures the drive shaft to the hub and remove the hub together with the fastener from the splines of the drive shaft. If the hub fits tightly on the splines of the drive shaft, use a mallet to knock it off the drive shaft.
9. After removing the fastener with the hub from the drive shaft, use soft wire to tie the drive shaft to the bottom of the car.
Caution: Do not allow the drive shaft to sag under its own weight, as this may damage the inner constant velocity joint of the drive shaft.
Installation
1. Align the hub splines with the drive shaft splines and install the hub with the fastener onto the drive shaft.
2. Align the hub fastener with the rear suspension arms and install the pivot bolts. Thread new nuts onto the pivot bolts, but do not tighten them completely.
3. Insert the rear lower control arm pivot bolt into the hub mounting element and thread on a new nut without fully tightening it. Lubricate the threads of the new nut with clean engine oil and thread it onto the end of the drive shaft and tighten to the specified torque. Using a hammer and drift, tap the shoulder of the nut into the groove of the drive shaft.
4. Install the brake disc.
5. Install the wheels, then lower the vehicle to the ground and tighten the wheel bolts to the specified torque.
6. Rock the vehicle to set all rear suspension components to normal. Tighten all hub mounting nuts to the specified torque. Install the protective cover onto the rear lower arm base and secure it with screws.
Attention! After removing and installing the rear hub fastener, it is necessary to check the rear wheel alignment angles.
