Purpose
The high-pressure fuel pump is designed to accumulate fuel under high pressure developed by the high-pressure fuel pump, distribute fuel to the injectors and maintain the required fuel pressure using a pressure sensor (5) and a pressure regulating valve (6). The pressure regulation process is controlled using the engine control unit. For the OM611 engine, the approximate volume of the high-pressure fuel pump is 35 cm³.
