Removal
1. Remove the cylinder head cover 2.
2. Remove ignition coil 3 together with high-voltage wires (see figure 3.15).

12. Cylinder head,
13. Lower timing belt cover.
3. Remove the cooling system pump 4 without disconnecting the system pipes.
4. Disconnect connector 5 from camshaft position sensor 6.
5. Remove the electrical attachments from the upper timing belt cover 7.
6. Remove the exhaust gas recirculation valve 8.
7. Remove the chain tensioner 9. This may cause engine oil leaks.
8. Unscrew bolts 10 securing the upper 7 and lower 13 timing belt covers. When installing, ensure that bolts 11 are installed correctly.
9. Remove the upper timing belt cover 7.
Installation
10. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. Lubricate the sealing surfaces with sealant.
