- never disconnect the battery terminals or voltage regulator leads while the engine is running and, accordingly, the generator. Otherwise, power surges occur that can damage electronic devices;
- in no case allow contact between the output of the excitation winding of the generator and the wire connected to it connected to «weight»;
- in no case do not confuse both wires of the voltage regulator;
- never connect a voltage regulator if it is connected to «weight» (possible instant failure);
- never remove the alternator without first disconnecting the battery (should at least be removed «negative» terminal);
- when installing the battery, observe the polarity;
- never use as a probe a lamp used in a household electrical outlet (110 or 220 V). Use only a 12 V lamp;
- if the battery is being charged without dismantling, disconnect both battery terminals. In order to exclude the possibility of incorrect connection of wires to the battery terminals, they have a different inner diameter.
Incorrect wiring leads to failure of the rectifier and voltage regulator, other electrical and electronic devices.
