Read the following section before working on the generator.
Before doing any work on the generator, remember the following safety precautions:
Never disconnect the battery or regulator while the engine is running.
Never check the operation of the generator even by briefly connecting the field winding terminal or its wire to ground.
Do not interchange voltage regulator wires.
The operation of the voltage regulator is unacceptable if it is connected to ground (immediate damage).
Do not remove alternator unless battery is disconnected.
When installing the battery, pay attention to the connection of the negative terminal to the ground.
Do not use lamps from the lighting network as a control lamp (110 or 220 V). Use only a 12 V lamp as a test lamp.
If the battery is installed in the vehicle, both wires must be disconnected before connecting it to the charger. Connect the positive wire of the charger to the positive terminal of the battery and the negative wire to the negative terminal.
Incorrect wiring will damage the rectifier and voltage regulator.
