To check the direction indicators, you need to turn on the ignition and turn off the alarm, since it blocks the work of the direction indicators. When moving the stalk to the appropriate position, the direction indicators on one side and the green indicator lamp in the instrument cluster should start to light up at regular intervals. The operation of the alarm device is organized in such a way that, according to the prescribed standards, the alarm works even when the ignition is off - the voltage to the switch is supplied directly from the battery. The direction indicators are supplied with electricity only when the ignition is on through the installed fuse. The following tips may be helpful in the event of a problem with the system:
- if the control lamp stops working in normal mode or flashes, as a rule, one of the system lamps is faulty;
- if the lamps stop flashing and are constantly on, the relay of the device is faulty;
- if the lamps flash either faster or slower, and the wiring, including the wire «masses», but not damaged, it is necessary to replace the relay;
- if the direction indicators do not work when turned on, but begin to act when the alarm is turned on, the fuse is blown, the direction indicator switch or its wiring is faulty;
- if neither the direction indicators nor the alarm are working, then the relay is faulty. In addition to the control lamp flashing in the same rhythm as the indicator lamps, the inclusion of the system is also confirmed by an acoustic signal - clicks emitted by the relay in the instrument panel. If it malfunctions, it is necessary to disassemble the dashboard, which is quite laborious.
