Removing
Accelerator cable square fastener location
The location of the brackets for fastening the plastic retainer for fastening the sheath of the accelerator cable
1. In the engine compartment, disconnect the accelerator cable from the carburetor throttle control lever, having previously removed the square fastener (see fig. Accelerator cable square fastener location). Remove the accelerator cable through the hole in the arm bracket.
2. Squeezing the brackets of the plastic retainer, remove the accelerator cable sheath from the bracket (see fig. The location of the brackets for fastening the plastic retainer for fastening the sheath of the accelerator cable).
3. Inside the vehicle, disconnect the return spring and remove the accelerator cable from the accelerator pedal lever.
4. Unscrew the adjusting nut and remove the accelerator cable sheath through the engine compartment sheath seal.
Attention! Do not remove the accelerator cable seal from the bulkhead of the engine compartment.
5. On the outer partition, remove the rubber seal of the accelerator cable, then remove the cable into the engine compartment.
Installation
1. Installation is made in sequence, return to removal. Before connecting the throttle cable to the carburetor lever, adjust the throttle lever and cable.

The location of the adjusting nut in the bracket
Arrangement of a nut of adjustment of a free wheeling of a cable of an accelerator from a pedal of an accelerator
1. Start the engine, warm it up to normal operating temperature and turn it off.
2. On vehicles with automatic transmission, disconnect the pressure control cable from the carburetor lever.
3. On models with a STROMBERG carburetor, disconnect the throttle cable from the carburetor lever and loosen the screw on the link attached to the lever (see fig. Rod and carburetor lever). Move the link to a position so that the roller is aligned with the idle speed limiter. While holding the rod in this position, secure it with the screw.
4. On models with a PIERBURG carburetor, lock the throttle actuator plunger by pinching the vacuum hose and letting the engine run for a few seconds. Disconnect the accelerator cable from the guide arm and adjust the linkage free play so that the stroke is 0.5 mm.
5. Connect the accelerator cable to the guide arm.
6. On vehicles with a manual transmission, the assistant must depress the accelerator pedal all the way, and on vehicles with an automatic transmission, the accelerator pedal must be depressed so that it reaches the forced downshift position, but does not turn it on.
7. The throttle lever on the carburetor should then move to the throttle stop. To adjust, turn the adjusting nut in the bracket (see fig. Moving the throttle lever on the carburetor to the throttle stop, Location of the adjusting nut in the bracket).
8. Release the accelerator pedal, while the traction roller should move to the idle speed limiter on the guide lever.
9. In this position, the end of the accelerator cable sheath should fit snugly against the spring. To adjust, move the fixing nut on the end of the accelerator cable from the side of the accelerator pedal (see fig. Arrangement of a nut of adjustment of a free wheeling of a cable of an accelerator from a pedal of an accelerator).
10. On models with automatic transmission, connect the pressure cable and adjust it.
