Removing
1. Remove the carburetor on a cold engine. Remove the ground wire from the battery.
2. Remove the air filter.
3. Using clamps, pinch the fuel supply and return hoses, then loosen the clamps and remove the hoses from the carburetor.
4. To relieve pressure in the cooling system, remove the cap from the expansion tank. Using clamps, pinch the coolant supply hoses to the carburetor, loosen the clamps and remove the hoses from the carburetor.
Attention! If the clips are missing, partially drain the coolant from the cooling system.
5. Disconnect the accelerator cable from the throttle lever.
6. On a PIERBURG carburetor, disconnect the auxiliary link from the control lever on the carburetor.
7. On vehicles with automatic transmission, disconnect the pressure control cable from the carburetor.
8. Mark and disconnect electrical connectors from the carburetor. Unscrew the screw and remove the ground bus from the carburetor.
9. Mark and disconnect from the carburetor vacuum hoses.
10. Unscrew the intake manifold support bracket. Unscrew the bolts and remove the carburetor from the intake manifold. Remove the intermediate plate and gasket.
Installation
1. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following points.
2. When installing the carburetor, use new gaskets.
3. Tighten bolts and fastening screws to the required torque.
4. Connect the fuel supply and return hoses according to the markings previously made.
5. Connect the electrical connectors to the carburetor in accordance with the markings previously made.
6. Connect the coolant supply hoses to the carburetor and add coolant to the cooling system.
7. On vehicles with automatic transmission, connect the pressure control cable to the carburetor.
8. Check and, if necessary, add oil to the carburetor shock absorber.
9. Start the engine and check the idle speed and the CO content in the exhaust gases.
