Lateral acceleration sensor (Mercedes-Benz Vito W639)

The acceleration sensor (B24/2) contains an electronic microcircuit (a) for registering the signal. The measurement principle of the acceleration sensor is based on the action of an elastic-inertial system. The electrical circuit has a built-in Hall sensor (b). An elastic-inertial element (d, c) is located above it. When this element is deflected above the Hall sensor to the right or left (b), a signal is generated.

Transverse forces move the elastic-inertial element (magnet) to a certain position. As a result, its position relative to the Hall sensor changes, which, in turn, leads to a change in the voltage signal.
