Checking and adjusting idle speed (Mercedes-Benz Vito W638)

0
1. Remove the right engine guard.

2. Screw the TDC pulse sensor 2 into the bracket and secure it (see figure 4.78).

3. Connect one of the digital testers: Bosch ETD 019.00, SUN DIT 9000 or AVL Diesel-Tester 875 without adapter or Bosch MOT 001.03 or Hartmann&Braun EOMT 3 with adapter.

4. Warm up the engine to operating temperature of approximately 60 - 80°C.

5. Disconnect connecting lever 4 from fuel injection pump rack control lever 5.

6. Check the idle speed.

Idle speed (on engines with pneumatic rev increase): 750±50. To check, disconnect vacuum tube 8 from vacuum capsule 7, check idle speed and connect vacuum tube 8.

Idle speed (on engines with electronic idle speed control): with adjustment - 720 ±10, without adjustment (the connector on the adjustment magnet is disconnected) — 670±40. To check, disconnect the wiring connector X120 from the adjusting magnet Y56. After measuring, reconnect the connector.

7. If the idle speed does not correspond to the required values, it is necessary to adjust it.

8. Attach the connecting lever 4.

9. Remove the tester and reconnect all other disconnected parts.
