Note. The pressure plate and the diaphragm spring are not disassembled and, in case of failure, are replaced as an assembly. The manufacturer makes changes to the design from time to time, therefore, a new clutch housing or driven disc should be installed taking into account the body and engine numbers.
The clutch can be removed without dismantling the engine. For any type of gearbox, the dismantling of the clutch must be carried out as follows:
- remove CP (see subsection 7.1);
- mark the position of the clutch relative to the flywheel. To do this, you need to apply marks with a center punch;
- loosen the fastening bolts evenly crosswise until the spring force is weakened. Then unscrew them one by one. These bolts must always be replaced;
- remove the clutch and take out the driven disc. Immediately wipe the surface of the flywheel with a rag and check its condition. If the lining of the driven disk is worn down to the rivets, it is possible that there are areas of wear on the working surfaces of the flywheel or pressure plate.
When removing the engine or gearbox, you should always disassemble the clutch assembly to check its parts.
