Note: The pressure plate and diaphragm spring are not disassembled and in case of failure are replaced as a unit. The manufacturer makes changes to the design from time to time, so when installing a new clutch housing or driven disk, you should take into account the body and engine numbers.
The clutch can be removed without removing the engine. For any type of gearbox, the clutch must be removed as follows:
- remove the CP (see subsection 7.1);
- mark the position of the clutch relative to the flywheel. To do this, you need to make marks with a center punch;
- loosen the mounting bolts evenly in a crisscross pattern until the spring force is relieved. After this, turn them out one by one. These bolts are always subject to replacement;
- remove the clutch and take out the driven disk. Immediately wipe the flywheel surface with a rag and check its condition. If the driven disk linings are worn down to the rivets, there may also be areas of wear on the working surfaces of the flywheel or pressure plate.
When removing the engine or gearbox, you should always disassemble the clutch assembly to check its components.
