The gas distribution mechanism cannot be adjusted. That is why it is necessary to follow all the instructions in this manual if it becomes necessary to dismantle the camshaft drive chain, drive sprockets and other parts that affect the gas distribution system. Alignment and centering of the parts of the gas distribution mechanism according to fig. 102 is not enough for perfect valve control. The engine may only be started if the indicated marks match.
High vehicle mileage causes wear on the camshaft lobes. In this case, only the service station can determine the condition of the gas distribution mechanism and the degree of wear.
