Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBV) (Mercedes-Benz M-Class W163)
EBV provides control of the distribution of braking forces. The driver is warned of a system failure by the simultaneous activation of the brake and ABS warning lights while driving (see Section Instrument cluster, gauges and control lamps and indicator lights), in addition, a warning buzzer is activated for 5 seconds. If the EBV system is faulty, the warning buzzer is activated each time the foot brake pedal is depressed at a speed of over 40 km/h - the car must be taken immediately to a Mercedes-Benz service station for diagnostics and the necessary repairs.
