Replacing brake fluid (Mercedes-Benz E-Class W210)

Brake fluid must be replaced every two years of operation. At a service station, this procedure is carried out using a special filling device. If the car is equipped with an ESP system, replace the brake fluid only at a service station. Otherwise, you can replace it yourself - the procedure is similar to bleeding. For the job, you will need two liters of new brake fluid of the brand specified in the specification.

Sequence of works

1. Pump out the brake fluid from the reservoir using a bulb or a clean syringe.



2. The procedure for each bleeding nipple is similar to that performed when bleeding the brake system. You only need to add enough brake fluid to the reservoir each time (Fig. 8.22) – 500 cm³ for each bleeding nipple. This volume is necessary so that the new fluid does not mix with the old one.
