EZL ignition system
Removing
Unscrewing the screws securing the ignition distributor cover
Removing the distributor cap
Removing the distributor rotor from the drive flange
Unscrewing the central bolt of the drive flange to the end of the camshaft
Removing the plastic protective cover and O-ring
1. The distributor of ignition is established in an end face of a head of the block of cylinders.
2. Release the clips and remove the plastic casing of the ignition distributor.
3. Mark and disconnect high-voltage wires from a cover of the distributor of ignition.
4. Unscrew the screws and remove the ignition distributor cover (see fig. Unscrewing the screws securing the ignition distributor cover, Removing the ignition distributor cover).
5. Unscrew the screws and remove the distributor rotor from the drive flange (see fig. Removing the distributor rotor from the drive flange).
6. Unscrew the central mounting bolt and remove the drive flange from the end of the camshaft (see fig. Unscrewing the central bolt securing the drive flange to the end of the camshaft).
7. Remove the plastic protective cover and o-ring (see fig. Removing the plastic protective cover and O-ring). Replace sealing ring if necessary.
Installation
1. Install the O-ring and plastic protective cover to the cylinder head.
2. Establish a drive flange of a rotor of the distributor of ignition on an end face of a camshaft. In this case, the groove of the drive flange must be aligned with the locating pin of the camshaft. Fasten the drive flange with the center bolt, tightening it to the required torque.
3. Install the distributor rotor on the drive flange and secure with screws, tightening them to the required torque.
4. Being careful not to damage the central carbon contact, install the ignition distributor cover and secure with screws, tightening them to the required torque.
5. In accordance with the previously applied marking, connect the high-voltage wires to the cover of the ignition distributor. Due to the fact that the ignition system is controlled by the crank angle sensor, there is no need to set the ignition timing after removing the ignition distributor.
Models with HFM engine management system
There is no distributor on the HFM engine management system as the high voltage from the ignition coils is applied directly to the spark plugs.
