1. Remove the ground cable from the battery.

2. On all models, the ignition coil is mounted on a bracket on the left front of the engine compartment. Release the clips and remove the plastic cover from the top of the ignition coil (see fig. Removing the plastic cover from the ignition coil).

3. Disconnect the central high-tension wire from the central contact of the ignition coil (see fig. Ignition coil wire connection points).

4. Unscrew the nuts and disconnect the positive and negative wires from the terminals of the primary winding of the ignition coil. Before removing, mark the wires.

5. Unscrew the bolts and remove the ignition coil.

Installation



1. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

Models with HFM engine management system

1. Three ignition coils are mounted on the cylinder head cover under the casing. The figure Location of ignition coils and their connection to the cylinders that they serve shows the location of the ignition coils and the cylinders that they serve.



2. Remove the ground cable from the battery.

3. Unscrew the screws and remove the cover covering the ignition coils. Disconnect the high-voltage wires and primary winding wires from the ignition coils.

4. Remove the screws and lift the ignition coil off the cylinder head cover while disconnecting the spark plug wire.

Installation



1. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
