Operating principle of the hydraulic clutch release drive (Mercedes-Benz Vito W639)

The hydraulic piston (7) with the release bearing fixed to it moves forward under pressure along the sleeve (8) and presses on the petals of the clutch membrane spring. See figure VN 3.006.

The piston is sealed using a cuff (6).

The spring (5) ensures constant contact between the release bearing and the petals of the membrane spring with low force.

A dust cover (4) is installed to protect against contamination.
