Removal



1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.

2. Remove the right deflector 1 (see figure 6.57).

3. Unscrew bolts 3 securing the automatic transmission control unit to the instrument panel tubular bracket and remove the automatic transmission control unit A4. Disconnect connector 2.

4. Disconnect connector A4.1 by unhooking connector flange 2.

Installation



5. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

Automatic transmission control unit (cars with engine 104.900)



Removal



1. Set the gear selector lever to position "P".

2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.

3. Remove the right deflector.

4. Unscrew bolt 1 securing the automatic transmission control unit 2 to the caliper (see figure 6.58).

5. Disconnect the automatic transmission control unit from guide 4.



6. Disconnect wiring connector 3 and disconnect the automatic transmission control unit.

Installation



7. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. When installing, make sure that guides 4 are installed on the pins of the automatic transmission control unit, then connect connector 3.
