Removal
1. Turn off the ignition and disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
2. Unscrew nuts 3 and remove gaskets 4 (figure 3.38).
3. Lift the rear of the M1 starter up and remove it from the timing belt cover.
4. Disconnect wires 2 from the starter and wire 1 from the electromagnetic traction relay of the starter M1.
5. Remove the starter by lowering it down.
6. Check the flywheel ring gear.
Installation
7. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
