Removal and installation the intake manifold (Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 903)

0
Removing the intake manifold is a fairly labor-intensive operation. Many of its stages are described below only briefly; to clarify certain details, you should refer to the relevant sections of the manual. To remove the intake manifold, you must perform the following operations:
  • remove the mixing chamber;
  • disconnect the engine crankcase ventilation system pipes;
  • disconnect the fuel line fasteners, unscrew them and carefully, without bending them, move them to the side;
  • disconnect the accelerator pedal drive cable;
  • disconnect the fuel pedal drive cable from the "gas" pedal position sensor (in a car with an automatic transmission);
  • disconnect the fuel supply control rod from the fuel injection pump regulator lever;
  • disconnect the rod from the shift lever (with cruise control installed);
  • unscrew the oil dipstick guide tube from the intake manifold;
  • unscrew the intake manifold with the gasket and manifold support. Before reinstallation, thoroughly clean the manifold flange surface and replace the gasket;
  • when replacing the intake manifold, remove all associated parts and install them on the new manifold.

Installation should be carried out in reverse order. Tighten the manifold to the cylinder head with a torque of 23 Nm.
