Removal and installation glow plugs (Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 903)

0
The spark plugs, like the injectors, are located under the intake manifold, which must be removed to remove them. To remove spark plugs, you will need a ratchet wrench with a head equipped with an extension.

After removing the intake manifold, unscrew the nuts from the spark plugs. The nuts are not removable as they are built into the wire ends. Then remove the spark plugs.

Before screwing in the spark plugs, the hole in the pre-chamber and the spark plug channel can be cleaned of carbon deposits using a reamer of the appropriate diameter. Only the standard Mercedes reamer may be used. Apply grease to the reamer grooves. The stop on the reamer prevents damage to the ball pin in the pre-chamber. It is important to remember that it is not allowed to insert the reamer too deeply.

Before screwing in, apply graphite grease to the spark plug threads. Installation occurs in reverse order. Tighten the spark plugs to a torque of 20 Nm, and the wire ends to a torque of 4 Nm.
