Location of rubber hangers for exhaust pipe mounting

The exhaust system on all models consists of three parts: the exhaust inlet pipe, in which the catalytic converter is installed, the middle part with an intermediate muffler and the rear part with a muffler.
The middle and rear parts of the exhaust system are mounted using rubber hangers. The exhaust intake pipe is mounted via a bracket to the gearbox.
The purpose of the exhaust system is to remove exhaust gases into the atmosphere so that even a minimal amount of them does not enter the car's interior, and to reduce engine noise to a low level. In order for the exhaust system to perform its functions, it must be in good condition. The condition of the exhaust system also affects engine power and fuel consumption.
Removal
1. The exhaust system can be removed from the vehicle either as a whole or in separate parts.
2. Before removing any part of the exhaust system, raise the affected part of the vehicle and secure it on stands or place the vehicle over an inspection pit.
Exhaust intake pipe
1. Using wooden blocks or a jack, support the catalytic converter or exhaust pipe at its lowest point. Remove the Lambda sensor from the exhaust pipe.
2. Unscrew the nuts securing the flange connections of the exhaust inlet pipe to the middle section of the exhaust pipe.
3. Remove the bolts securing the exhaust pipe bracket to the gearbox (see Fig. Location of bolts securing the exhaust pipe bracket to the gearbox).
4. Remove the nuts and disconnect the exhaust pipe from the turbocharger or exhaust manifold. Remove the exhaust pipe from underneath the vehicle.
Catalytic converter
1. Unscrew the nuts of the flange connection of the catalytic converter to the exhaust pipe.
2. Loosen the nut and remove the clamp bolt from the ring securing the catalytic converter to the intermediate pipe.
3. Disconnect the catalytic converter from the intermediate pipe and remove it from under the vehicle.
Rear part of the exhaust system
1. Remove the nut and bolt from the clamping ring that secures the rear section of the exhaust system to the middle section.
2. Remove the rubber hangers from the exhaust pipe and remove the exhaust pipe from under the car.
Exhaust system assembly
1. Using boards, support the catalytic converter or exhaust pipe at its lowest point. Remove the Lambda sensor from the exhaust pipe.

2. Unscrew the nuts of the flange connection securing the exhaust inlet pipe to the middle section of the exhaust pipe.
3. Remove the bolts securing the exhaust pipe mounting bracket to the gearbox.
4. Using an assistant, free the exhaust system from its rubber mounts and remove it from under the vehicle.
Installation
1. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following points.
2. Remove all traces of corrosion from the connecting flanges and replace the sealing gaskets.
3. Check the condition of the rubber exhaust system mounts and replace them if necessary.
4. Replace the seal at the junction of the middle and rear sections of the exhaust system.
5. On connections with tension rings, before connecting the exhaust pipes, apply a thin layer of a special paste to seal the connection.
6. When installing the exhaust system, leave sufficient and uniform clearance between the exhaust system parts and the underbody.
