There are several modifications of this system for re-burning exhaust gases. The modification of the system that is installed on each specific car depends on the year of manufacture, engine type and the country for which the car is intended.
Due to the variety of exhaust gas reburning systems installed on a vehicle, information is provided below on components that are common to all systems.
Vacuum valve
Removal
1. The valve is located on the right side of the engine compartment.
2. Make sure the ignition is off and disconnect the electrical connector from the valve.
3. Label and disconnect the vacuum hoses from the valve.
4. Unscrew the mounting screws and remove the vacuum valve from the engine compartment.
Installation
1. Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Check that the vacuum hoses are connected correctly.
EGR valve
Removal
1. Remove the EGR valve on a cold engine.
2. Remove the vacuum hose from the top of the EGR valve.
3. If present, unscrew the nuts and remove the recirculation tube from the EGR valve flange. Remove the gasket.
4. Unscrew the nuts and remove the EGR valve from the exhaust manifold.
Installation
1. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
