Due to the variety of exhaust gas reburning systems installed on a vehicle, information is provided below on elements common to all systems.
Vacuum valve
Removing
1. The valve is located on the right side of the engine compartment.
2. Check that the ignition is off and disconnect the electrical connector from the valve.
3. Mark and disconnect vacuum hoses from the valve.
4. Unscrew the mounting screws and remove the vacuum valve from the engine compartment.
Installation
1. Installation is made in sequence, return to removal. Check that the vacuum hoses are connected correctly.
EGR valve
Removing
1. Remove the EGR valve on a cold engine.
2. Remove the vacuum hose from the top of the EGR valve.
3. If present, unscrew the nuts and remove the recirculation tube from the EGR valve flange. Remove the gasket.
4. Unscrew the nuts and remove the EGR valve from the exhaust manifold.
Installation
1. Installation is made in sequence, return to removal.
