Alignment of the mark on the crankshaft pulley / vibration damper with the edge of the crank angle sensor mounting bracket
Pin alignment (1) on camshaft flange with rib (2) on the camshaft bearing cap
The location of the marks on the camshaft for setting the piston of the first cylinder to top dead center
A - camshaft of later models with a mark in the form of a hole (1);
B - camshaft of earlier models with a label in the form of a pin (2)
1. Mark the position of the cylinder 1 high voltage wire terminal on the distributor cap.
2. Remove the cylinder head cover.
3. For the crankshaft pulley bolt, turn the engine crankshaft clockwise until the following marks are aligned with the pointers (see fig. Alignment of the mark on the crankshaft pulley / vibration damper with the edge of the crank angle sensor mounting bracket, Alignment of the pin on the camshaft flange with the rib on the camshaft bearing cap, The location of the marks on the camshaft for setting the piston of the first cylinder to top dead center):
- a - The mark on the crankshaft/vibration damper pulley must align with the edge of the crankshaft angle sensor mounting bracket.
- b - The pin on the camshaft front flange must align with the rib on the camshaft bearing cap.
- c - the rotor of the ignition distributor must be aligned with the contact of the high-voltage wire of the first cylinder.
