Crankshaft pulley / vibration damper
Removal
1. Remove the ground cable from the battery.
2. If equipped, remove the lower engine splash shield.
3. Remove the radiator and fan impeller.
4. Loosen the radiator fan pulley mounting bolts and remove the auxiliary drive belt.
5. Remove the bolts and the radiator fan pulley.
6. Loosen the mounting bolts and remove the crankshaft pulley/vibration damper from the hub.
Installation
1. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
Hub
Caution! To remove the hub from the crankshaft, you must use a puller.
Caution! When tightening the hub mounting bolt, use a torque wrench that provides a tightening torque of 300 Nm.
Removal
1. Remove the crankshaft pulley/vibration damper from the hub.
2. Fix the hub from turning. To do this, make a special tool from two steel strips connected with a bolt. Fasten the special tool to the hub with bolts.
3. Unscrew the hub mounting bolt and remove it together with the disc washers.
4. Using a puller, remove the hub from the crankshaft.
5. If present, remove the woodruff key from the crankshaft.
Installation

1. Install the woodruff key into the crankshaft keyway.
2. To facilitate installation of the hub, heat it to a temperature of 50°C.
3. Align the groove in the hub with the woodruff key and install the hub onto the crankshaft.
4. Lubricate the disc washers with clean engine oil, then install them with the convex side facing the hub mounting bolt head (see picture).
5. Apply a thin coat of motor oil to the bolt threads and screw in the hub mounting bolt.
6. Using a special tool or a homemade one, lock the hub from turning and tighten the hub mounting bolt to the required torque.
7. Install the crankshaft pulley/vibration damper.
