Removal



1. Remove the cylinder head cover, refer to Section Removal and installation the cylinder head cover.

2. Set the piston of the first cylinder to the TDC position. To do this, shift the gearbox to…


2. Set the piston of the first cylinder to the TDC position. To do this, shift the gearbox to neutral and turn the crankshaft with a socket wrench by the central bolt of the crankshaft pulley in the direction of engine rotation, i.e. clockwise. Rotate the crankshaft until the "OT" mark on the pulley and the pointer coincide.

Caution! Do not rotate the engine crankshaft in the opposite direction. Do not rotate the engine crankshaft by the camshaft sprocket mounting bolt.

3. In this position, the punch (1) (locking pin) should be inserted through the first camshaft bearing cap into the hole in the inlet camshaft sprocket (2). Otherwise, turn the crankshaft a full revolution and reinsert the drift.
