Removal



1. Set the piston of the first cylinder to the TDC position, refer to Section Setting the piston of the first cylinder to the TDC position.

2. Remove the top engine cover, refer to the relevant section.

3. Remove the chain tensioner, refer to the relevant section.

4. Remove the front cover, refer to the relevant section.

5. Lock the intake camshaft. To do this, insert the locking pin through the first camshaft bearing cap into the hole in the camshaft sprocket.

6. Disconnect the intake camshaft linkage. While doing this, hold the shaft from turning with a wrench.

7. Remove the top guide.

Installation



1. Install the top guide.

2. Secure the leash to the intake camshaft with a torque of 50 Nm. While doing this, hold the shaft from turning with a wrench.

3. Remove the lock pin from the hole in the camshaft bearing cap and intake valve shaft sprocket.

4. Install the front cover, refer to the relevant section.

5. Install the chain tensioner with a new gasket, refer to the relevant section.

6. Install the engine top covers, refer to the relevant section.
