Removing
1. Remove the gearbox.
2. Remove the lower engine mudguard.
3. Drain the engine oil from the engine.
4. Drain the coolant from the cooling system.
5. Remove the radiator and radiator fan.
6. To prevent damage to the air conditioning condenser, cover the condenser with a sheet of cardboard.
7. On the front side of the cylinder head, unscrew the nuts and disconnect the pipes from the hydraulic pump of the self-leveling rear suspension system.
8. On models with an air conditioning system, remove the auxiliary drive belt and disconnect the wires from the air conditioning compressor.
9. From the top of the bulkhead of the engine compartment, remove the seal, unscrew the screws and remove the wiring harness cover.
10. On non-turbo models, remove the air intake pipe, release the retaining clips, remove the air filter cover and remove the filter element.
11. On models with a turbocharger, remove the air intake pipe from the turbocharger.
12. Mark and disconnect from the engine hoses of giving of a cooling liquid and vacuum hoses. If necessary, release the hoses from the mounting brackets or brackets on the engine.
13. Tag and disconnect all electrical connectors on the engine. Release the wiring harness from the mounting brackets or brackets in the engine compartment. Remove the wiring harness from the engine.
14. On models with an air conditioning system, remove the auxiliary drive belt. Unscrew the air conditioning compressor from the engine and move it to the side without disconnecting the hoses from it.
15. Remove nuts and disconnect fuel supply and return lines from fuel filter or fuel filter or high pressure fuel pump. Close the hoses with plugs.
16. Disconnect the accelerator cable from the throttle linkage.
17. Unscrew the cap from the power steering reservoir and, using a syringe, pump out the maximum amount of fluid, then replace the cap.
18. Unscrew the connecting nuts and disconnect the pipelines from the power steering pump. Release the pipes from the clamps or brackets on the engine.
19. Remove the liner from the front left wheel arch, then unscrew the nuts and disconnect the oil lines from the oil cooler.
20. From the flywheel side, unscrew the crankshaft speed sensor and remove the electrical wires from the mounting brackets. Fasten the sensor with wires in the engine compartment in such a way that it is not damaged during further work.
21. On models with automatic transmission, unscrew the transmission fluid pipes from the heat exchanger.
22. Remove the brake booster vacuum hose from the vacuum pump.
23. Hook the engine with the hoist straps and lift it just enough so that the weight of the engine can be supported by the hoist.
24. Place a sheet of steel or cardboard between the rear of the cylinder head and the engine bulkhead to prevent damage when lifting the engine.
25. Finally, check that all hoses, pipes and electrical connectors are disconnected from the engine.
26. Working under the vehicle, on both sides of the engine, unscrew the lower power unit mounting bolts.
27. Carefully remove the engine from the engine compartment. When removing the engine, if necessary, tilt and turn it so that it does not damage the engine compartment.
Installation
1. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following points.
2. When installing the motor, tilt and turn it as necessary so that it is seated without injury.
3. Tighten all fastening bolts and nuts to the required torque.
4. Connect all hoses and electrical connectors to the engine as marked previously.
5. Connect and, if necessary, adjust the accelerator cable.
6. Install the auxiliary drive belt.
7. Install the radiator and radiator fan.
8. Install the gearbox.
9. Fill the engine with engine oil and the cooling system with coolant.
