9. Under the vehicle, unscrew the nuts and remove the exhaust system from the bracket on the gearbox.

10. Remove the two lower bolts securing the gearbox to the engine.

11. Attach the engine to the lifting gear and lift it so that the weight of the engine is supported by the lifting gear.

12. Unscrew the lower engine mount bracket mounting bolts on both sides of the vehicle in turn.

13. Raise the engine enough to access the oil pan mounting bolts.

14. Loosen the oil pan mounting bolts evenly and gradually. Note their location as they are different lengths.

15. Remove the oil pan from the vehicle along with the gasket.

Installation

1. Clean all traces of dirt and oil from the mating surfaces of the oil pan and cylinder block.

2. Install a new gasket onto the oil pan. Tighten the oil pan mounting bolts, working from the center in a diagonal sequence.

3. Lower the engine and tighten the lower engine mount bracket bolts.

4. Remove the lifting gear slings from the engine.

5. Screw in the lower transmission-to-engine mounting bolts.

6. Install the bracket that holds the exhaust system to the transmission and secure it with new nuts.

7. Connect the exhaust outlet pipe to the intake manifold.

8. Install the radiator fan shroud.

9. If equipped, connect the electrical connector to the oil level sensor.

10. Install the front anti-roll bar.

11. Check that the oil drain plug is installed in the pan and tightened to the specified torque. Install the lower engine splash guard.

12. Install the air filter.

13. Fill the engine with motor oil.
