The location of the front supports of the power unit
The power unit rests on three pillars. Two supports on both sides of the engine and one support on the back of the gearbox.
1. Raise the front of the car and secure it on stands.
2. Check the condition of the rubber suspension elements for cracks, aging and delamination.
3. Check the reliability of fastening of suspension brackets of the power unit.
4. Moving the engine from side to side, check the play in the suspension of the power unit. The play should be negligible even with new suspension elements.
Replacement
Front supports
1. Hook the power unit with the hoist straps and lift just enough so that the weight of the power unit is supported by the hoist.
2. Remove the bolts securing the powertrain support bracket to the engine.
3. Unscrew the bolts securing the rubber support element to the beam and remove the power unit supports.
4. Installation is made in sequence, return to removal.
Rear support of the power unit
1. Raise the front of the car and secure it on stands.
2. Place a jack under the gearbox and support the gearbox through a block of wood.
3. Unscrew bolts and remove a back support of the power unit.
4. Installation is made in sequence, return to removal.
