1. Drain the cooling system.

2. On engines with a magnetic fan drive clutch, remove the radiator.

3. Loosen the alternator mounting and adjusting bolts, slide it toward the engine, and release the drive belt on the pulleys. If the alternator belt needs to be removed completely on models with power steering, air conditioning, (compressor), first you need to remove the belts of the corresponding units.

4. On models with a magnetic fan clutch, lock the pump and remove the center bolt, then remove the fan and remove the pulley bolts from the water pump. Lock the pulley with a screwdriver inserted between the center shaft and the head of one of the bolts.

5. On models with a viscous fan drive coupling, remove the bolts and fan and pulley from the water pump.

6. Remove the bolts and remove the water pump from the housing on the front surface of the cylinder block.



7. Clean the mating surfaces of the water pump and housing.

8. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. Install a new gasket and tighten the bolts to the specified torque. Fill the cooling system with liquid and tighten the drive belt.
