Thermostat and housing parts
1 - hose; 2 - fitting; 3 - hollow screw (models with air conditioning system); 4 - tube (models with air conditioning system); 5 - thermal switch (models with air conditioning system); 6 - cover; 7 - gasket ring; 8 - thermostat; 9 - body; 10 - gasket; 11 - bypass hose
Removing the thermostat from the casing
1. Partially drain the liquid from the cooling system.
2. Where required, disconnect the wires from the air conditioning temperature switch on the thermostat cover.
3. Loosen the bolts and remove the thermostat cover, leaving it attached to the top hose. Remove the spacer ring.
4. Remove the thermostat from the casing.
5. To test the thermostat, hang it on a thin rope in a vessel of water. Gradually heating the water, notice the temperature at which the thermostat begins to open. Continuing to heat the water, note the temperature of its full opening. Remove the thermostat from the water and make sure it is fully closed when cold.
6. Replace the thermostat if the temperature readings are out of specification or if it is not fully closed when cold.
7. Clean mating surfaces of case and cover and install new o-ring.
8. Install the thermostat in the reverse order of its removal; install a new o-ring.
