Thermostat and housing parts
1 - hose; 2 - nipple; 3 - hollow screw (models with air conditioning system); 4 - tube (models with air conditioning system); 5 - thermal switch (models with air conditioning system); 6 - lid; 7 - sealing ring; 8 - thermostat; 9 - body; 10 - gasket; 11 - bypass hose
Removing the thermostat from the casing
1. Partially drain the cooling system.
2. Where required, disconnect the wires from the air conditioning temperature switch on the thermostat cover.
3. Remove the bolts and remove the thermostat cover, leaving it attached to the upper hose. Remove the sealing ring.
4. Remove the thermostat from the housing.
5. To test the thermostat, hang it on a thin rope in a vessel with water. Gradually heat the water and note the temperature at which the thermostat begins to open. Continuing to heat the water, note the temperature at which it opens completely. Remove the thermostat from the water and make sure that it is completely closed when cold.
6. Replace the thermostat if the temperatures noted differ from the required data or if it does not close completely when cold.
7. Clean the mating surfaces of the casing and cover and install a new gasket.
8. Install the thermostat in the reverse order of its removal; install a new sealing ring.
