The ABS system prevents the wheels from locking when braking, regardless of the tire grip on the road. The car remains controllable even under full braking. A slight vibration of the steering wheel and pulsation of the brake pedal when braking indicate the transition to regulation using the ABS system. When the key in the ignition switch is turned to position 2, the ABS indicator lamp on the instrument panel lights up. It goes out after about 2 seconds. If it lights up while driving, it indicates a fault in the ABS system.
