2. Remove the adjusting ring 3 (figure 4.49).

3. Fix the clamp with the thrust piece to the outer ring of the tapered roller bearing.
4. Secure the clamp to the gearbox housing with two bolts (figure 4.50).

5. Tighten the bolt to 10 Nm, turning the drive shaft so that the tapered bearings can align.
6. Measure the distance A from the edge of the sealing surface to the outer ring of the tapered bearing using a caliper (figure 4.51).
Figure 4.51. Measuring the distance A from the edge of the sealing surface to the outer ring of a tapered bearing.
7. Determine the thickness of the adjustment ring. For example, the measured distance A - 2.7 mm corresponds to the thickness of the adjustment ring of 2.7 mm (figure 4.52).
Adjusting ring thickness: 2.2-2.95 mm (with a step of 0.05 mm).

8. Insert the selected adjustment ring (figure 4.49).
9. Install cover 2 and tighten bolts 1 for its fastening. Apply sealant to the cap, but be careful not to get it into the oil line (arrow) (figure 4.53).
