Removal
1. Remove the tray.
2. Unscrew the cap. This plug is subject to spring force, so care must be taken when removing it. There is also a seal on the plug (arrow) (figure 2.66).

3. Remove the ring, pin and control plunger.
Examination
4. Check the control plunger for signs of wear and replace it if necessary.
5. Check the pilot hole of the control plunger in the oil pump for signs of wear. If the guide hole is excessively worn, the oil pump must be replaced.
Installation
6. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
